When you register for Swoova you provide us with your name, email, gender and birth date. During the registration process, you will be able to add a picture of yourself to Swoova and in some cases we may ask for additional information for security purposes. Once you have registered, you can provide other information about yourself, containing your location, websites, a personal biography and follower relations. When collecting your information:
Swoova does not disclose personal information to any third-party medium unless authorised by the user and visitors are able to refuse to supply personal information, with the caveat that it may prevent them in engaging in certain website-related activities.
We may use the information we collect to contact you with service-related announcements or for promotional offers regarding our services available. We will also use the information to offer personalised and specific advertising targeting to you; this information is not shared amongst advertisers or any third-party source without your consent, as agreed below. We allow advertisers to select specific characteristics to target their advertisements to a specific audience, although this information may not be publicly available, we will use this information, such as your age or gender, to select the appropriate audience for these advertisements. We may use the information about you that we collect from other Swoova users to amend your profile, but in such cases we will give you the ability to remove the content and limit its visibility on your profile and follower network.
Swoova does not collect personal information from children under the age of 13 and therefore any registration attempts made by users under the age of 13 will automatically be rejected. Any personal information that we may have been collected from a child under the age of 13 will deleted as quickly as possible.
One of the key elements to Swoova is to share content with others, whether this is adding a text-based entry, uploading a photo, uploading a video, sharing a link, sharing music, interacting with users profiles and interacting with user-submitted content in the form of likes and comments. Any information you provide Swoova with may be used to improve our products and services.
We keep a track of some of the interactions on Swoova, such as expressing a "like" on any given entry or media content including audio, videos, albums and photos or commenting on any given entry or media. In some cases you are also taking an action when you provide information or content to us. For example, if you upload a photo, in addition to storing the content which you have uploaded, we might record and store the photo information along with a log that records you shared it. When accessing Swoova from a computer, mobile device, or other device, we may collect information from that device about your browser type, location, IP address along with the page you requested to load.
We use cookies (a cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns) to make Swoova easier to use, identify and track visitors, their usage of the Swoova website and their preferences stored within the Swoova website. We also use cookies to confirm that you are logged into Swoova and to know when you are interacting with Swoova and all features available. You are able to remove or block cookies from Swoova before using the Swoova website, but this will impact your ability to use all functionalities of Swoova and the website may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
All non-personal information, potentially personal information and personal information described above is stored on a restricted database server. We may also use information about the location of your computer or access device and age to implement appropriate security measures to limit and control the distribution of age-appropriate content and any other information requested will ask and verify you for your permission.
Swoova may monitor and collect statistics about the behaviour and interactions of visitors to the website. For example, Swoova may monitor the most active entries and most active accounts to help identify and reduce spam. Swoova may display this information publically or provide it to other parties. However, Swoova does not disclose personal information or restricted information as expressed through the user's privacy level.
This section explains how the Swoova privacy levels work and how your information is shared over Swoova. Before sharing any information on Swoova, you should consider and verify your privacy levels are correct.
It may be noted that your name and display picture will be made available across Swoova, so that they can be shown on results so that other users on Swoova can follow and interact with you, because of this reason, your name and display picture do not have any privacy levels and are visible by any Swoova user. For those that do not want a display picture, you are able to remove your display picture from Swoova, and use the default empty display picture. You are able to control who can locate and find you when searching on Swoova and whether your profile should be visible through search engines, such as Google.
Any information that you share on Swoova, including contact information can be controlled through the Swoova privacy levels. You are able to change who can contact you and see your personal information in respect to your contact email addresses, to which each individual email can have a different privacy level. You are able to update your privacy so that your profile is set to private, or you can set your profile to public, whilst able to adjust individual shared contents privacy levels. You can control the privacy levels of all personal information Swoova collects, for example your gender, your age, your follower counts, your following counts, your media counts and your liked items count.
In respect to your gender and date of birth, as these are required, you cannot remove the details from Swoova, however, you can edit your profile to restrict visibility of the information, whether that is hiding the information partially or completely.
Under the privacy level controls, content and information which is set to "everyone" is publicly available information and can be accessed by everyone on the Internet, including those not registered or logged into Swoova. It allows the information to be indexed by third party search engines and to be imported, exported, distributed and redistributed by us and others without any privacy limitations. Such information may also be associated to your account, including your name, display picture and may be visible on public search engines when you are viewing other sites on the Internet. By default, some personal information is automatically set to "everyone" and you can review and change this default setting at any time. If you delete content or alter the privacy setting of content which has previously been set and allowed to "everyone", we cannot control the availability of this content and information outside of Swoova.
You are able to change or remove your profile information at any time by updating your profile. This information will be updated immediately on Swoova. However, even after you remove information from your profile or delete content or your account, copies of that information may remain visible elsewhere to the extent that it has been shared with others or distributed through a third-party source in respect to section 8 of this Privacy Policy. Once you delete your account, your information may not be permanently removed and a copy of this information may remain on a Swoova server for a maximum of 90 days. If you chose to delete your account, your account will be permanently removed from Swoova and cannot be restored at any point.
Swoova will ensure the information is removed of its servers and websites, however, we cannot ensure that the information is removed or not redistributed on websites or third-party sources that we do not own or have control over.
your request, we will provide you with a summary of all the information we collect about you. From this, you will have the opportunity to correct, update, modify or delete this information by contacting a relevant representative at Swoova. It may be noted that some information may remain in our records after it is deleted of your account as we collect and store backups of your information, information may persist or remain in a previous backed up copy, however, this information will not be available to anyone else.
The content in this Privacy Policy only applies to content and information collected by Swoova and does not extend to third-party companies that Swoova does not own or control or people that Swoova does not manage. This website contains links to third party websites. Any information that you provide to, or that is collected by third-party website is not responsible and controlled under this Privacy Policy through Swoova and may be subject to a privacy policy of the sites concerned, if any. We strongly encourage you to read third-party websites privacy policies before you chose to share any personal information or content with them. It is the sole responsibility of such third parties to adhere to any applicable restrictions on the disclosure of your personal information and Swoova and its affiliates are not liable for wrongful or disclosure of your personal information by or through any third party source.
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time-to-time. The most current version of this policy will govern our use of your information and any information we collect now is subject to this Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected. If we make changes to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you by making the amended policy available on our website or by emailing you to the email associated with your account. By continuing to access or use Swoova after the changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
